YOU NEVER Go On Holiday!

Posted: October 29, 2011 in Inspired!, SHORTCUTS

The year is coming to an end, and many people are gearing up for Holiday season. Our minds are winding down with thoughts of final endeavours, whether it’s exams or deadlines, we are filled with a bunch of things coming to an end. “Finishing off” is the order of the season, because we’ll have a great time relaxing afterwards. External responsibility is giving you one final push before the timeout that is Christmas and New Year’s.

However you may have some personal agendas that actually could suffer at this time of year. You might become very good at doing everything, except You! With deadlines chasing you, it’s easy to relax on yourself at this time, and make excuses for not being as tenacious as you should be with your own personal goals. Your eating habits, your writing, your affirmations, your plans, yourself…it can all easily go down the drain when you “hunt the holiday”! Then you’re stuck having to make resolutions which are really ‘resuscitations’ of our own goals!

It will easy to do this. Believe me! By the time you get to the end of the year, you’ll probably put back 30% of the weight you recently lost (and that’s a modest estimation), or only written 10% of what you would’ve if you stuck to your daily word-count (I’ve had to see this for myself), or could even go backwards in some of your relationships. Once there’s unavoidable pressure from other sectors of your life, usually the first sacrifice is YOU! Everything that’s important to you just seems to go on pause.

But when it comes to goals, there is no pause. There’s only progression and regression. That’s something you have to remember. The reason for this is that if you do take a break from yourself, it’s not just as simple as resuming the activities to get back on track. You’ve lost significant momentum both in your physical activities and mental head-space for your goals. Frame of mind  is just as important as activity when it comes to life.

So be careful with YOU, because YOU never go on holiday! Everything you’re doing is for your benefit, or to your detriment, and you can never downplay that. Even the holiday season serves a purpose, but is should never be for nothing.

It will be very easy for New Year’s resolutions to actually  be your attempts at catching up on all those personal goals you neglected. You might pull it off, but you’re a lot safer with just keeping track on your time during the rest of this year. You may need to slow down on a few things, but don’t stop.

Keep yourself accountable.

You Never Go On Holiday

A Break From You? Never! Well.... Maybe.... NEVER!

The weight does not wait… it only knows INCREASE! If weight had its own self-esteem, I’m sure it would be very positive!
      Always moving forward! Hahahahaha!!
      Don’t wait!
